Kevin Rudd out, Julia Gillard in. First female PM for our country.

Not saying right or wrong, but I am shocked, and a little sorry for K Rudd.

I think of what he has done in his two and a half years, and I wonder why everyone hates him. I'm not the most knowledgeable on politics and I know there has been some difficulties, but he:

    -Apologised for the stolen generation
-Steered us through the gfc (last Western country to go into recession, first to come out)
-Education revolution (improving schools facilities and making a national curriculum so all states are teaching the same thing)
-Tried to uniform health around the country.
    -Gave me $900
I'm sure there is bad stuff, but a bit stiff in my opinion.

For sure a lot of good stuff, but also a fair amount of stuff up. Rushing schemes through before they really ready to be used (insulation), stating the intention to do something and pushing and then spending $$$$$ on it only to have to pull the pin on it (ETS) and generally trying to be someone he wasn't. I have nothing against the man, but as is quite common with highly intelligent people, they function on an entirely different level and are unable to effectively communicate with others who are not of the same intellect. Unfortunately when Ruddy tried to talk to the public like a "mate", he just sounded like a twit and it was quite difficult to understand just what the point was he was trying to make.

Oh well farewell Ruddy, g'day Julia!

They should both come, might as well. Everyone's invited!
Its not like Stephen Harper has a sensible budget for this thing.

Ya, but i'll always have his back, once you enter politics, you open yourself to attack. He will always be my hero, before Bono, Before Ed, there was Pete for me. Too young to appericate John Lennon and Bob Dylan.

    From New York Times
Mr. Rudd, who faced rising opposition from within his own center-left Labor Party, ceded control of the party's leadership to Ms. Gillard in the capital, Canberra. Mr. Gillard, who once enjoyed the highest approval ratings in Australian history, became the shortest serving prime minister in nearly 40 years and one of a handful to be thrown from office before completing one term.

But soooo not as annoying as K Rudd - as someone else said on here - he tried to talk like a mate to people and ended up sounding like a real twit. He was never really on my fav. PM list....hope Julia Gillard does a better job. (Although I too am not complaining about the cash handouts he gave!)
