Anyone here heard of Biffy Clyro, like em? Personally I love them, they're my fav new band in years though they're far from immediate and take a bit of getting into. They're huge Pearl Jam fans and have been known to have a PJ tune as their intro music, Masters Of War Live being one of them. Anyway here's a link to them covering 'Daughter.' Haven't had a chance to listen to it as I can't at work but will when I get home. Hopefully it's good. Oh also apparantly 'Daughter' is one of Radio 1 DJ Colin Murray's fav songs ever.

I aint a fan of Biffy Clyro at all, but it's always cool when other bands acknowledge Pearl Jam regardless. The cover's ok. The guys voice isn't strong enough for that song.
You gotta skip to the 1:06 mark to hear it btw.

My mate lived in scotland for 18months, and he tried to get me onto them. This is the 1st time I heard them, and the guitar was good, That guys voice was shocking.

But they are coming to sydney, so I might go with my mate. Who knows,....

    Thanks BTW

Each to their own, I haven't heard too much of their live stuff recorded but as far as the times I've seen them live they've been amazing but your right he's no Ed or Cornell. Yeah I'm gonna be getting tickets to see them here in Sydney too, only A$44. Always think it's cool when bands like PJ, good to know they have their influence on other artists.

Just listened to it and yeah not a great version vocally, really loses the vocals at the end there. Still their stuff live is amazing.

My second favourite band. Their newer stuff is a bit pants but their first 3 albums are all well worth owning.

I'm looking forward to hearing their version of Daughter.

I've seen them play about 20 times and they're usually blinding.

You do know that Masters of War is not an original Pearl Jam song just something that they covered right???

Like no kidding, my point was that it was cool they played something live from PJ before coming on, goes to show they're fans.

Not as good as their older stuff true and a bit more straight down the line but I wouldn't say pants and I think it's great ppl are discovering the older stuff now they're a lot bigger. Have to say their cover of Daughter is pretty rubbish but yeah the 3 times or so I've seen them live has been amazing, can't wait to see em in Sydney.

    Um, I can't find Daughter

NVM, got it now. For anyone else having problems: It helps to look at the tracklisting for the radio show when scrolling through the broadcast

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/colinmurray/tracklistingarchive.shtml?20080310

Listening to it though makes me really appreciate Eddie's voice all the more. I dont think Daughter is that challenging vocally (especially compared to other PJ songs) but the singer barely manages on some notes.
Well, do you need a lot of what you've got to survive?
