Car keys.
Touching my arm
she makes her sweater softer
fuzzy cushioning
maybe she’s from cruising clouds
She just rides along
daydreaming with the birds
on every passing
utility pole
Sometimes
highway speakers
have a twin
All day
she’s helping strands of golden light
decorate themselves
around my steering wheel
Parked in the evening
moon craters make the rules
and she’s off bouncing across the hood
All I can do is smile
as the backdrop
has the ocean and sky
battling
over our eyes.
Who’s going to bleed?
