How Long at Bridge

LukinFanLukinFan Florida Posts: 29,009
edited July 2008 in The Porch
Does anyone remember how long PJ usually plays at Bridge? I'm assuming about an hour and a half and just the one day.

Trying to see if it's worth making the trip.

and remember....there are roughly 15 acts so you're getting 6-7 hours of music and it's for a great cause....the bands playing with the school's students sitting behind them rockin' out....all acoustic....fall in the bay area :)

pegi and neil put on a great show....it's like they're throwing this really cool party and we're invited :)

Actually, I think there are usually around 7 - 8 acts ... here's a history of who has played http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridge_School_Benefit

edit ... oh, and who is up for a fan club only show at the Fillmore around this time? :D

I could add that to the list of 10c tix I have missed out on.
That list keeps getting longer and longer and longer.

It's definitely worth it! Bridge is always the best weekend of the year IMO.

Usually about 8 acts on the bill, they each play 30-35 minute sets. You see things there you won't see anywhere else.

Do yourself a favor though, since there has been no official announcement don't book your travel just yet. Neil has been known to boot acts off the bill for jumping the announcement, and when there is an official announcement it comes from the school & not through any artist rumored to be on the bill.

Farm Aid is up first (9/20) and generally when that is about a week away, the Bridge dates (if there will be Bridge dates) are announced.
    Sit tight.

cool thanks. A last minute flight from FL to CA shouldn't be too bad ;)

I'm probably gonna have to pass for this reason alone. i looked up flights the other day, and IF I got it now, I'd be paying around $500. I couldn't even imagine what's it's gonna be like as it gets closer.

Headliners get an hour at most and more like 50 minutes. Ive been to 12 straight Bridge Benefits. The longest headliner I can recall was Neil in '99 when he did over an hour. That was a really bad year weather wise too. Cold, rainy but still a great time.

The headliners are always scheduled for 40 minutes. Some go over. LIKE Dave Matthews in 2006.

Neil went long in 2000. That was the year they brought in the helicopters to dry out the lawn.

For 2006, I'd keep PJ DMB and Foos, get rid of rest and add Petty, Bruce, Green Day, REM with Robin Williams performing.
