What Does "Bump" Mean (And How Do I Do It)?

Seriously. I see people doing it for posts they apparently like, but how do you do it and why do you do it?

As you can tell, its a really slow, boring day at work.

You can "bump" a thread either by just posting the word 'bump' or something else. Whenever anyone posts anything anywhere, that thread moves "up" in the forums. As in, shows up among the first when you click New Posts or any of the subforums (AET, Porch, etc.)

People bump threads to keep them on the first pages so that as many people as possible can read and/or contribute.

And by posting this, I am bumping your thread. :P (Which sounds kind of lewd.)

bump is basically some one 'responding' to a topic, and 'bumping' it higher up on the message board...like on the signed fender raffle. If ppl didn't 'bump' it, it would get lost on page 2 or 3.
