This kid was brought to the U.S. when he was 4 years old to escape a domestic violence situation in Mexico. He doesn't even remember living there. He just finished his freshman year at Harvard, where he is studying molecular and cellular biology so he can become a cancer researcher.

(You know how anti-abortion people are always saying, "What if you aborted the kid who was going to find a cure for cancer?" Well what if you deported the kid who was going to find a cure for cancer?)

I didn't read the article, but couldn't he pretty easily get a student visa?

I think we should rush his citizenship, sounds like he is going to be making some good money soon. So let’s make sure he has everything he needs to pay his taxes. What would be the benefit of deporting this person?

I would like to add that I would understand if we wanted to deport him because he possessed intelligence. Seems to me America enjoys being dumb.

Are you saying that the Mexican universities are comparable to Harvard?

I don't know how easy it is - especially if you've just been deported. If it's that easy, why don't they just give him a visa already instead of threatening deportation?

    ........

The part that seems most outrageous to me is that we're trying to deport people to countries they can't even remember living in.

I know there are universities that are comparable with Harvard, I don't know where all might be located. I'm guessing Mexico City might have some good schools.
