Random Eddie reference at Soul Asylum show

So I went to see Soul Asylum last night and the singer randomly referred to the guy who seemed to be his guitar tech as Eddie Vedder. (I'm not really sure who the guy was. He was acting as the tech but also came out and played a song with them.)

Then I googled it just now and found on the Soul Asylum forum that at another recent show he announced to the audience that Eddie Vedder was about to join him on stage for a song - but it was "George" who came out. I don't know who George is. I think maybe it's the bassist who plays with them when the other bassist is on tour with Guns-N-Roses.

Anyway, just thought it was a random reference last night. I was with two other hard-core Pearl Jam fans, so we all got a good laugh out of it.

Could it have been George Webb- PJ's guitar tech?

I used to love Soul Asylum... still do to a point... just never thought they had the best live sound.

But I would go see them if they came around - I always thought they were good :)

Yes, he's still with them. The show was pretty good, but I missed half of it and the venue was only half full. Made me kind of sad. I thought they did a great job! :)

That's an interesting thought! What does he look like? This guy appeared to be a white guy with dark, curly, longish hair.

Hmm, Soul Asylum? I never knew they were still around. Over here in Europe they are basically known only for Runaway Train, which was released in the early nineties I think? Cool thing about the Ed reference though. So, any suggestions on where to maybe pick up if I wanna get into them a little bit? Grave Dancers Union is a good album you say?

P.S.: Sorry for the thread hijacking.

And the Horse They Road in On and Hang Time are the other two to get, after Grave Dancer's Union. Great band.
