I think it opened this weekend.
  • Caught it last Thursday night, it was brilliant. If you're a fan of Rush, you'll love this. If you're not a fan and see this movie, you'll come away with, hopefully, a tremendous amount of respect for them.
  • Got it on pre-order from Amazon. Can't wait to watch it. I've heard it's pretty amazing.

    setlist?
  • setlist?

Setlist for the movie? It's not a movie of a live show, it has clips from songs (fab clip of la villa), plenty of conversation with the band members, etc.

Thanks, I didn't know it was coming out on DVD so soon! Is there a reason it's not going to have a longer theatrical run?

I can't believe it's not being shown in the DC Metro area.

I saw the film a few weeks ago "Rush-Beyond The Lightened Stage" it was absolutely amazing. At first I thought it was just going to be a whole load of talking heads that Sam Dunn has used before on the other films he has made. But Rush was very different, old footage, family interviews, interviews with Geddy,Alex and some of Neil,he is much more private but Alex has such charm.
I was in Rush heaven.Would really recommend it for all fans and anyone curious about am amazing band.

Can't wait to see this. These guys are so humble. They show such humility when they talk about their years in the music biz!

Had I not just had a kid I would have been there front and center to see it in theaters. Rush = my other Pearl Jam.

Looking forward to it! The preview looks great... hope this doesn't bring in too many casual fans... nah... there's no such thing as a casual Rush fan!

Caught it on VH-1 Classic this A.M......will be picking it up in the store this coming week. This was one of the best documentaries on a rock band that I can recall....simply engaging. :ugeek:

It's on again tonight on VH1 Classic if anyone wants to DVR it. I'm going to check it out.

DVD came from HMV today. An excellent documentary, brought back a lot of great memories from the early days. Even if you're not into Rush I reckon you will get something out of this film. Off now to watch the DVD of extras.

I heard "Animate" as the bumper on a sports talk show today. It's blaring on my computer right now. Great song.

it was so great, i saw it with my mom last saturday on tv. they were so funny! they're like the most non-threatening people in the world. it was great watching everyone talk about how awesome rush is, it reminded me about the first time i ever really listened to a rush song. it was so similar to everyone else's reaction to them, it's like they have this talent that people gravitate towards that you can't ignore, even though a lot of people don't give them the recognition they deserve. they remind me a lot of pearl jam in a way, being a central part of a musical movement but not getting the recognition they deserve despite their talent...

All I can say is the film really gives historical justice to a long ignored (by critics) major rock band. Have they ever got around to putting them in the r&r hAll of fame yet?

I just finally saw this tonight. Very good. I missed chapter 2. I can't believe they didn't mention Roll the Bones. The stuff about Peart's family was very sad. But overall, a solid doc.

Finally got around to watching it last night (will watch the bonus features soon).

GREAT movie. Lots of good info, and even a few old rumors dispelled (LVS being recorded in one take, etc). I just love listening to everyone tell their stories about finding Rush and what Rush's music meant to them. And as much as I hate Kiss, I love how Gene Simmons pretty much said Rush is their own genre. Too true. Way too many people will never "get" Rush, and I don't know if that makes me happy or sad. They've been something special in my life for 20 years, and there are only a select few people I've ever been able to share them with. I wish I could share the Rush love with more people, but part of me likes having this little obsession that a lot of other people just don't get. It's been a fun ride.

Your words ring through so true. I do find today MORE people respecting what has accomplished in over 30+ years of making modern music. I get thumbs up to RUSH when I'm wearing classic Rush shirts and it's about time.

    Peace
