the rain came in sheets
the thunder in waves
nature decided it was time
for a cleansing of the soul
do you hear the thunder?
please don’t be afraid
it’s just the sound of my heart beating
in anticipation of holding you
deep tissue soaking
the smell of wet summer
lazy dog sleeping at my feet
and my thoughts drift off to,….
the hidden sun will soon disappear
that is when my day begins
while others sleep
my heart aches for you
night song, nights long
and the thought of hearing
your voice shakes me
to my very soul
so if you hear the thunder,
please don’t be afraid,…
it’s just my way of calling out to you
