what is the matrix?

    Well, philosophically, the matrix represents the idea that what we perceive with our senses isn't necessarily the truth, since quite evidently our senses can be fooled easily. (there are zounds of psychological research into this, usually illustrated with "impossible" pictures like how a river flows downwards and somehow end up back where it started) We have no way to know whether there is a "matrix" or whether what we experience is really real. That's a Kantian position really, that there is forever a barrier between what we see (phenomena) and what it really is (nuomena).

    If we're talking about the movie and what it entails philosophically, that is.

    If not, probably an Illuminati world banker plot. ;)

    Pretty damn good Dan, I agree with u buddy. And I also think the illuminati theory isn't that far fetched....swinging to the rhythm of the new world order....
