Inside Job is a fine musical achievement for Pearl Jam. It has got to be one of their top 5 songs. Love how the songs builds. Mike did a great job with the lyrics. This song shows how good Pearl Jam is. This is not something easy to play either guys. Great song.

I loved how in the MSG II 08 boot, Mike fucks up in the beginning of the song and comes on the mic and says "I fucked up. I wrote the song and I still fucked it up." Classic moment.

  • a friend had a leaked copy of avocado on their mp3 player and they played this song for me first. so, this song was the first song i heard off avocado. saying that it REALLY freaked me, out would be an understatement ;)

not the best song on the cd, but, still a damn fine song, with a hellofa cool intro

I stand corrected. Sorry about that. I just heard the boot over the weekend and when I read the post about Mike writing Inside Job, I thought about that and got the song confused. Good looking out.

  • Intro of it is amazing. Best song off of avocado by far.
  • This became one of my favorite PJ songs over the summer. It was one of those songs you have on loop forever ;)

The music and lyrics fit so well and the build-up is just so good. Also perfect final track.
"Would I rather be feared or loved? Um... Easy, both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me." -Michael Scott
  • Agreed. It took me a while to get into it, but once I was hooked I was HOOKED. Great song, very emotional, one of the most powerful moments in any PJ song when Eddie sings: "Holding on / The light of night / On my knees to rise and fix my broken soul...Again...".

    :)

that is an awesome part! one of my favorites, along with
"life comes from within my/your heart and desire" along with the wailing he does at the end. its so orgasmic..

  • The opening build up for Inside Job makes me think a little of the build up for Dogs by Pink Floyd.

    I thought that as well.

...When you say "even parachutes" is sounds like you are defending parachutes as if folks think its a bad song? Is that how folks feel.

I love that song. Music is great. Lyrics could be better.
