Is very sad that those kind of things happens in this day and age ,there's a lot of injustice around the world :( , but this is a hard time for the USA, and maybe the USA is not in the conditions right now to be the world's Police.

 Of course not. This incident was properly investigated independently and yes, there is proof.

On the other hand, your story continues here http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/w ... 147378.ece

"Shamsuddin Khan Faryie, an elder in Heratiyan, said that the boy, identified as the son of Abul Qudooz, was seized as he played in his garden. He was found hanged from a nearby tree.

Mr Faryie said that there were conflicting reports within the village over who was responsible. “Some people said that it was Taleban,” he said. “Some people said they were private enemies. Some Taleban I spoke to said that he was a spy. Some said that it wasn’t them.”

The killing of children to punish their families has echoes of Western mafia-style violence. Under Pashtunwali, the ancient honour code of the Pashtuns, it is likely to provoke more vendettas and blood-letting.

Qari Yousef Ahmaid, the Taleban spokesman, denied that any of his militants were involved. “The Taleban’s enemies are the Afghan Government and the foreign forces,” he said. “We never kill children. Everyone knows a seven-year-old can’t be a spy.”

So... a bit more details than the snippet you chose to link to. Here, there is definitely NO PROOF the Taliban were involved. Even the village elder says so....

However, whoever did this, it's a heinous crime.

acoustic guy, your fox news article refers you to a link from the times of London. Democracy now ran a report from the times of London backing up redrocks link.

i'm not sure why you accept that your story is true and the others are not. they came from the same source.

I don't know where you were 9/11/01 but the USA was attacked by a group that the Taliban harbored. This is not Iraq. There is a difference in why we are there.

I understand but do you think that the USA is capable of being the world police right now? And even if the USA get rid of the Talibans in the area do you think that they're only there? :(

this happened while we ARE there

and your logic is if we pull out, what

maybe we should pull out because-
trillions of dollars spent on a war no one can win

i think that cash could put to better use

do you know how many 7 year olds go to bed hungry

    or don't get proper health-care

or never will meet their mom or dad cause they were blown up or torn to pieces by bullets the size of red bull cans while "defending america"

Well, think about it... what if we weren't over there. Would the kid have been spying fror us? If, indeed, he were spying. And if he was, WHO uses a 7 year old as a spy and places their lives in harm's way... other than drug dealers? What does that say about the people recruiting children as spies?
    ...
Also, it's reall easy to say, 'The Taliban did this'. But, look at some of the things that took place in Iraq.
Neighbors with disputes with their neighbors would tell our troop commanders that the guy next door had a cache of weapons and was an insurgent. Next night, a column of HMMWVs would kick down the guy's door and roust him and his family.
Not all the killings in Iraq were based on Secular violence or Al Qaeda intimidation... it was just plain murder. But, tagging the murder as insurgent action makes it much easier for us to digest. We did that in Vietnam... any dead Vietnamese was tagged as Viet-Cong... including women and children.
Who knows why this kid was killed... and who knows for sure who did the killing?

No we should not be the world police, however I believe that the fight in Afghanistan and what we do in Pakistan is just. I am for the removal of troops from Iraq as well. Mr.Obama has still not come through on that campaign promise.

what are the goals of the USA in afghanistan? I wasn't here in the US when the war started so I'm lost when people talks about Afghanistan and what the USA is doing there.

Help Afghanistan to create a democratic gov.?
    Eliminate the taliban?

the same reason we aren't invading every other undemocratic society in the world. it's disgusting and sad, but don't fool yourself, there are MANY worse places in the world than Iraq and the US government doesn't give a SHIT about them for "some" reason.
