The Karate Kid

I have absolutely no desire to see the new movie called The Karate Kid (which is actually about Kung Fu) but it got me remembering how great that movie was. I can't figure out why they would name this new movie The Karate Kid, when it's obviously nothing at all like the original. I guess they figure the title will draw an audience.
Then I saw a link to this today, and I could NOT stop giggling... especially when I saw the first poster they showed and I remembered having that same poster hanging in my room when I was a tween. LOL

i just finished watching this! hilarious
and the new movie looks silly
No Cobra Kai In this movie. No thanks.
Strike first
Strike hard
No mercy.
I just read they're releasing a remake of Red Dawn in November. Really?? A movie totally inspired by the Cold War? I'm amazed at what Hollywood won't recycle. Don't get me wrong, I loved the original when it came out (I was like 13) but this just sounds bad.
There now that i got that out of my system i have no desire to see this movie. Like anther poster said "No Cobra Kai NO THANKS!" And i agree with this poster!
It will be changed to China instead of Russia watch or they will make up a country too make the movie even more horrible.
Wow there is alot crap on that list
But that Ralph Macchio Funny or Die thing was hilarious! Thanks for that! How old is it? Didn't seee a date listed.

The two that really hurt on this list are the John Carpenter movies ... the Thing and Escape from New York. Fucking loved those movies ... just rerelease them as is!!! The Thing is perfectly made.
I know they did have Gerard Butler signed on to play Snake Pliskin for Escape From NY, but, the script fell through and it's open to anyone again.
I didn't know about The Warriors or Flash Gordon ... both would kill me a little bit, love the cult nature of both films and would like it to stay that way.

Wow. Just wow.
I'm pretty sure it's only been uploaded a few days ago.... when he's looking at the movie poster for The Karate Kid, it's the new movie version.
I do think Ralph Macchio has a portrait he keeps hidden in the attic that does the aging for him...
Hooker: "Call me when you turn 18"
Ralph: "But I'm 48 years old!!!!"
There can't be too much of a difference, right?

Agreed man. All in all, they're just remaking too many classics. A classic is a classic, and it should be left at that.
I will go postal if I ever see they're remaking the original Terminator...until then, these 4 in particular are making me pretty fucking pissed:
The Thing
The Warriors
National Lampoon's Vacation
Alien

Won't be long before there are 'remake' and 'original' shelves at your dvd store. Its really getting out of hand.
We just don't live in a society that appreciates talent any more
When also considering the music scene these days, that is a easy statement to agree with.

They did an American version of Death at a Funeral - and people in NA will probably never even know there was a British one to begin with!!
Wow, Ralph has barely aged at all! Crazy!

I wonder what people under 20 think, or are they even watching?
I fear it may go the way of Stranger Things and go off the rails bringing in the younger siblings.
