Dave Matthews Band - Any Warehouse Members Out There?

Had a quick question that I was looking for help with.

My buddy has a first day account and was contacted by someone who saw his join date on the WH boards. That person offered to buy his account from him (for quite a bit of money, I might add). The guy also told my friend to pass the word along to anyone else with a 12/98 account who might be interested. Is this even legit? Should he bother reporting the guy or just ignore him? Would this put his account in danger if he did report him?

I came here because we were looking for a more rational response than he's sure to get over on the Warehouse boards. Those people take things entirely too seriously and he didn't want to risk any speculation that he was entertaining the thought of selling it and having it canceled. Any help is appreciated. Post here or PM me.

Then you DEFINITELY came to the wrong spot. It's worse here. Damn, offered him money from a membership since 12/98. Can't stand that band now, but makes me wish I still had my membership from '98....

My buddy has a very good account (first three rows of WH seats at any seniority show) and was offered upwards of $1,000 for it. Should have held onto it! ;)

sounds like a scalper trying to accumulate seniority...but considering every time i go over there during confirmation time, i see many 12/98's not getting any tix so i'm not sure if it really matters

so in closing, i have no idea what your buddy should do :P

    Yeah, no transferring membership here.

I don't know why anyone would pay to see DMB now. It's the same hack routine he's been doing for 15 years. Just my opinion.

Saw Dave at the Meadows 2 years ago and it was just awful. My buddy saw them at SPAC a week or so ago and he said he felt like the oldest person there (he's 29).

We are a pretty crazy bunch here, and not a hell of a lot of rationalism to be seen on the board (as evidenced by all the 20th anny speculation), but we are wayyyy cooler. At least that's what I like to believe.

Yeah, just don't think I could've - as any rational human being would - keep a membership for that band for this long. I think I would've been better regretting the fact that I didn't invest in Google in '98.

I can't believe he's the last act at The Roo this year with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING else going on. That would drive me insane.

My favorite is 12/98 members who still don't understand that they have a good chance of ending up on the lawn when they request "Best Available" as opposed to "Reserved Only."

When did you get rid of it? I was going to join with him, but we decided to just get the one back then. I ended up getting another one of my own for one round of Dave & Tim shows...which promptly got me the worst seats in the house. That club sucks if you haven't been in it since the beginning. They get WAY too many tickets and don't take care of their members nearly as well as the 10C does.

I think the last time I got tix through the Warehouse was in '02 I believe. So I guess around there. Joined in early '98, and was all DMB'd out by the beginning of '02 I'd say.

You let yours lapse too? Got any advice on what I should do?

If it were me I'd take the money just cause that'd be the best F-U to that band I could make. Easiest grand ever made.

Now my 10C membership....someone would need to pry that from dead body.

My buddy still sees about ten shows a year, and I like being able to have good seats when I want to see them a few times a summer.
