Can't wait.
Wow, a lion eh?
You got something against lions, Dis?

this dang cat was up the side of a giant tree running down it.
i saw this flash running down this tree... then a spring explosion from the tree into thin air about 12 feet off the ground hitting the fern jungle like a bullet. zoom kitty was gone as the ferns gave way to the cat's agile skills.
african lion?

Nice cover up. But you were totally thinking about African lions weren't you? Weren't you, Dis? Forgot about the ol' American lion, didn't'cha? Where is your sense of patriotism? I salute the American lion every time I see one.
The extinct one? Are you wrestling with fossils again?0 -

No, no. The north american cheetah is extinct. It was the only critter fast enough to catch the pronghorn that still exists today, well, except man. American lions still exist though. Every once in a while they eat a jogger or mountain biker in California. Good kitty!Idaho's Premier Outdoor Writer

I have never seen one in the wild. Which, is basically the inspiration for that fictional piece I included a link to. I mean, I have tracked them, smelled them, heard them, and done everything but see one. Fuckin' ninjas anyway. I did see a lynx once and it was very much like what you described. I have never seen an animal move so fast or gracefully. It did one running leap that must have carried it over twenty feet and it looked effortless.Idaho's Premier Outdoor Writer

i'm pretty sure it was a big cat.

Not to ruin you're fun of wrestling the beasties of the wilderness but I recently read this article, and when I read your post it popped into my head.

Carry an air horn when you're walking around.... if you see a bear or a mountain lion, use it. The sound will hopefully scare them off.

Hey, all the wild animal anal probing I do is for the scientific benefit of all mankind. Steve Erwin can back me up on this... Oh wait.
Too soon?
mmm nope. The day he died there were sms and email jokes going viral here.
•Steve wouldn’t have died if he were wearing sunscreen, it would have protected him from harmful rays.

I would love to see a lion! I've been told we have some near our cabin but I've never had the pleasure. It'd be so kickass to see one not in a cage.... Seen plenty of wolves during our little 'earn-a-bear' season. Savage fucks.0

There was a raccoon outside our window last night. It was fat and pretty slow and seemed to be enjoying itself in the neighbor's trash barrel.
I shut the window.
