Song Requests Played by Donation Amounts?

As Eddie says on Philly 4, someone was going to donate money to play Outta My Mind...

Would Pearl Jam support a donation system where fans donate money to a certain organization and you choose a song when you donate so whatever song gets the most money donated would get played for a certain show?
So like if I knew I was going to MSG1, I would donate $100 for Undone to be played at MSG1 and then the winner would get played??

I know this isnt the best of times but things will get better, and either way people still donate, and some people on here have mucho money and wanna hear specific songs.

Just an idea.

I agree with this idea... all I think you would need is for them to have a list of songs to choose from, a list of charities to choose to support, and basically, each song 'vote' costs X amount. So, if you REALLY want to hear this song, buy 20 votes, and it will cost 20X. Then, the band plays which ever song received the most votes.

Yea I guess some people would complain they dont wanna know what songs are going to be played, so maybe they list just the top three per show instead of saying which one got the most before the show?
If it was a list of songs- who would choose?

Agreed. Donate money to charity because you want to, and hope that "your" song gets played. What is next..."buying" the entire set list?

I didnt realize one song equals a set list. So youre saying you have a problem with the guy who donated money for the song at Philly 4?

If this was open to everyone going to a show the songs voted for would be Alive, Even Flow, Jeremy etc.

Anyway, in my opinion this is just too much in the direction of only wanting rarities and shows for bragging about. It's taking the magic out of things.

    Every show is great.
