    Yup, I remember this from a few years ago. I don't remember exactly what it was, but someone recognized them from a different band, and it was set up or something.

    But if not, then yes, it's awesome!

    it was set up. they are from the band c-average (sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBM0iEdasuM) but the true story is that they never rehearsed betterman so that was pretty much improv there!

    I wouldnt call it a hoax, Ed was just having fun (as he's been known to do :))
    They were from C-avg, the band he was playing with at the time
    I saw him do this twice and the crowd's reaction was killer
    '96 7 shows / '97 3 shows / '98 15 shows

    I stand by haox- especially since it was never reveiled to be a hoax. I do believe ed was just having fun and obviously meant no harm but it was still- by definition a hoax.

    As for not liking the blonde hair I'll tell ya the top buttons of his shirt undone's nice though!! :)

    I was at this show. I had great seats about 5th row to the left of the stage and I remember right before Ed came on I see this blonde Eddie look-a-like on the side of the stage and was like why does he have a wig on? great show that day and hot ass shit at Alpine Valley but is one of the best venues to see a show. The other bands that were they were Rage, Beastie Boy's, The Cult, RUN-DMC, Live, The Roots & Blondie (not Eddie the real Blondie) . Also this was a dry show!!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

    That was my 1st EdVed/PJ show ever. I was 13 and sitting way back on the lawn. At that time, I was learning the guitar and when Ed asked for volunteers, I was ready to rock out. A lot of us were fooled that day. :lol:
