Eddie Vedder's vocal range...a question

I have heard Eddie Vedder's vocal range described as both a tenor and as a baritone.

The more I listen to him, the less sure I am. How would you describe Eddie's voice?

As a little side note...my 10 year old son is completely hooked on Pearl Jam...I've added many PJ songs to my iPod and have lately been listening to Crown of Thorns a lot. My son absolutely loves it. He is also quite fond of Dirty Frank. He initially became a fan with Even Flow (from Guitar Hero). He really started paying attention to my Pearl Jam songs after that. A new Pearl Jam fan...YEAH!

He even asked me if we could drive down to Bonnaroo and see them when he heard me talking about how much I would love to do something like that. I told him we will have to wait to see if they ever come up north again. He wasn't too thrilled about that.

Anyways...thoughts on Eddie's voice would be appreciated...thanks!

Cindy

Definitely Baritone, he may hit some higher notes every once in a while but he is not a tenor - thank God - his depth is what does it for me!
