the PHILLY REMIX project test is a HUGE success! - Faithful

Well I'm back from the lab!! :). As some of you know I own and operate my own music school in pennsylvania - Evolution Music Studios. We mainly teach lessons in guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and keys. And have a bunch of band programs, drum circle, concerts, etc. We have a little rehersal studio that we also record a little in.

For weeks I have been in all the discussions of "more crowd volume" on the boots. Especially philly 09, and msg 10. I said I wanted to try and remix the official boots with audience boot crowd noise. Well I did a test run. Used "faithful" from night 1 philly.

HOLY SHIT!


Total success. Like jaw dropping success. I was able to sync the two in my editing software very quickly. It is a WHOLE NEW WORLD. And besides crowd a complete unprepared for enhancement is the BAsS. Wow. Wow.

There is so much more bottom now, I can hardly believe it. It FEELS so much better. I did not have a problem with the bass at all, now I feel like its hardly there on the official release. The addition added a whole lotta sub!!

My only issue now is syncing the whole show (and entire run) with the tracking (song breaks) and shit. But even if there are breaks. The added DIMENSIONS are SO worth it!

I am so happy now. So happy with this!

    Wondering if anyones heard different audience sources? I would LOVE to be able to mix crowd from multiple locations in the venue.

    Couldn't get it to work. After I download the tool to upload files, that would never install or open. I'm bad with computers though.

    really my only gripe about the Philly box set is the lack of crowd...especially on In Hiding Night 3. We were so friggin' loud and couldn't wait to hear on the boot, but the boot just didn't due justice.

    This is quite a common occurence with bootleg recordings. they call them Matrix recordings and they can yield awesome results. :mrgreen:
