I recently got the version from itunes with Ed singing this song with Neil Finn. It is a truly moving tune that is tailor made for Ed's voice. A great, great piece of music!

Are you sure it is Neil, not Tim?

gvn2fly is correct...this wonderful song was recorded almost 10 years ago at the St James in Auckland NZL...
Tim also wrote this gem...One of THE most beautiful songs ever written & performed in it's own right, and to have Ed bring his heart and soul to this treasure, well, it's astoundingly beautiful...

I walked into a great used record/old 45 joint about 8 years ago or so determined to buy the CD for The Who & Friends - @ Royal Albert Hall... it's great, had seen it the night before at a buddy's - and friggin Ed man - killer...the nice gal who helped me said she could sell me that or she could "blow your Pearl Jam lovin' mind" - reaches on the top shelf and sold me on 7 Worlds Collide DVD...never had heard of it...

    Wow

Neil Finn & friends doing parting ways is FANTASTIC...Ed with Betchadupa doing History Never Repeats and I See Red - just fantastic and worth owning this puppy...

Quote from Paul McCartney: "I'd give one of my kids to be able to write songs like Neil..." and Neil after he found out:"Well, I've got some of Paul's kids right here".

Made me have a whole new appreciation for Crowded House & Split Enz & The Finn Brothers - amazing the high regard Neil is held in every music circle...deserved I believe...

Funny, there is a moment prior to History Never Repeats, where Neil comments about how cool it was to have Ed and his kid Liam (Betchadupa) rock out...then Ed commented that it would be cool if his kid could jam out with Liam...then to see Liam kill it during Ed's Tour in '08 - it was just cool to see all that come together, knowing the fondness the families seem to have...

Sorry to go on  Love this song, love this DVD and glad to see some other folks do too...

To see Liam rock out as the opener for Pearl Jam and Ben Harper and R7 on the Aussie and NZ tour was awesome! ;)
