I see Billy Corgan is coming out with a signature guitar....does anyone know if Mike has been been offered one yet? Nothing against Corgan, but we all know Mike is more deserving.

I thought Billy would have been a lock for his own WHINE before a guitar.

The real question is: Has mike been offered deity status yet? Really, that is the question.

I would think Mike would be able to work with almost any manufacturer he chose to. IMO both Gibby and Fender would do a Mike custom shop deal.

  • Gibson could make a Signature Les Paul "Black Beauty" so Mike could retire the original.

Or they could make a guitar called 'God'.
  • Or they could make a guitar called 'God'.

    That would work.

EDIT: They could give it some kind of heat sensitive fretboard. It would be cool to see it in use. Color patterns all over the neck when he plays a solo.

    It might be the pot.

I think it'd be cool, but he plays both Gibsons and Fenders pretty equally. Besides, why would he retire THE Strat? Also, what would set apart his strat from a regular 50's one? As cool as it'd be, there isn't much of a difference.

By the way, I also thing that John Frusciante needs a sig strat!

I probably underestimate Mike's popularity among guitarists, but I would think that most people would see the guitar and say, "Mike who?"

They'd probably have better luck peddling an Eddie Vedder SG or something. Mike, as talented as well all know he is, isn't prominent enough in the band to get something like this. And as someone said - it'd pretty much be the equivalent of a regular old Strat anyways.

I think pretty much all of his guitars are stock...so Mike signature Strat would pretty much just be a custom shop sunburst strat

Fender loves doing those distressed signature models. I can imagine one of the custom shop guys seeing pictures of Mike's '59 and wanting to get their hands on it.

Andy Summers is an ok guitarist, he has one. John Mayer although decent, is not worthy in my opinion.

There are others inferior to Mike both in skill and stature who have sigs.

    Take a look.

John Mayer, say what you will about his talent, is far more well-known as a guitarist than Mike is. As famous as Pearl Jam are, Mike simply isn't famous on his own. I'm sure he likes it like that.

He won't get one. He's not commercial enough. It has nothing to do with skill.

All the guitars he uses are from 1957. 57 strat, 57 les paul, etc. One day that strat of his will be a fendershop guitar.
