NEW VIYNL OLD VIYNL? ITS NOW ABOUT THE VS VIYNL

i reckon that 2nd hand viynl from 20 years ago sounds better than brand new 180 gram viynl from today
i just have a middle of the range stereo, but i find even the most paper thin viynl sounds better
anyone elese find this?

    i have noticed that... i think it's all down to the pressing, tone, etc how records are pressed. Today I listened to Whitesnake's LP Ready An' Willing and the tone from it is brilliant..... 31 year old record :)

    Its all in the pressing . i have new 180 Gram that sounds Great . and i also have that 30 year old LP that sounds great . and i also have that Import colored vinyl that sounds great .


    On top of all of those . i have the same not so great !! goes both ways

    Yes, unfortunately I find this all the time - and favour secondhand vintage pressings for this reason (and they're usually cheaper!).

    As well as the reasons listed above, there is a shameful and quite secretive practice of using a digital master for A LOT of the current reisssues - in fact I believe only a minority of the 'back to vinyl' 180gm reissues are using the original analog masters. Look into it - you will find I am probably right. Best idea for classic records is to get a nice thick early pressing second hand - sounds so much better.

    for those that have heard both versions of Vs. would you say this is true there as well? I have an original and had been considering selling it and buying a remaster. However, if the original has better sound, then I'll stick with it.
