I either read somewhere or saw a video clip, but I think it was either Jeff or Mike that said they didn't want to be one of those bands that failed with their second album after the huge success of TEN.
When I first heard Pearl Jam in late December 2005, my cousin made me a mix CD to get me started. I didn't know my life would change just from that mix. So onto the stores I went. I bought TEN first and thought that was a really great album. Then when I bought VS and listened to it, it completely blew my mind away and knew this was a band that would become my second favorite band (grew up at an early age listening to The Beatles). After VS, I bought every other album. But VS changed me!
Thank you Pearl Jam for this masterpiece of an album; you can call it your magnum opus. I believe VS IS the best album of the 1990s.
Oh, and the songs from VS on the mix my cousin gave me: Small Town, Indifference, and Rearviewmirror. The man knows his Pearl Jam.

...does not need to be remastered. It already sounds awesome!
Very true! However it does need to be re-issued though with a treasure trove of goodies like a Pinkpop dvd and Fox Theatre vinyl set etc........
Like a book among the many on a shelf...
Dublin 02 Arena - 22/6/10. Belfast Odyssey Arena - 23/6/10. London Hyde Park - 25/6/10. Berlin Wuhlheide - 30/6/10.
Manchester MEN - 20/06/12. Manchester MEN - 21/06/12
I love free riding to VS... But it has a tendency of making my lines look like I was throwing out grenades at every turn. Wow, I just had a craving to get back up to Tahoe..
Here, here!!! I pulled it out again recently after neglecting it for a while too...to me it almost rivals Ten in greatness. "Glorified version of a pellet gun..." lol, been stuck in my head for a week or so now, along with, "it's my bloooooood!" lol
