is the single best performance of any song from this band EVER. That's a FACT!!! There's such passion and intensity in this version! Dave brought so much to that song.

11 minutes long - Ed's shriek to kick it off - Jeff's ridiculous bass rhythm and depth is astonishing - Mike is tearing up a storm (little Hendrix in there early is sweet) - they go off like Present Tense in a way, very Grateful Dead-like jam halfway thru, Dave A just OWNING it like a beast, and Ed's Ozzy-like shrieks at the end are splendid.

"Goodnight" drops the mike and Mike's guitar echo is still goin' strong...crowd reactin' like "what was the number of that truck that plowed me into oblivion?"

Tough to disagree with this being the best Porch ever...

That one and the 3/29/94 one are my two favorite versions of Porch. I wish they started Porch these days the same way... it just launches off then where now it just kind of builds which is cool in its own way, but I like it old school more. :)

Gary.... how does this compare. I think this one rocks 28% harder to be honest.

After listening to both back to back and knowing that The Hoff usually knows best I Have to stick with Atlanta '94 they are both great and it is really just personal preference. Not anything I could point directly at and say "that's it". Who really care what I think ....I would love to hear the bands take on this discussion maybe they would say something like: You all are fools best version of Porch is easily...... :D

I disagree :P I was discussing this with a buddy last night and I brought up the Drop in the Park version as my second favorite! I love the improv and the random wailings by Ed in Atlanta whereas he was too busy climbing and jumping at DITP

    Nope! :(

I just hope that when the band decides what DVD to include for their Re-Issue Box Set of Vs, I hope it's a DVD of Atlanta '94.

After reading this thread I just had to play the track.

I still remember listening to this show broadcast live on the radio when I was 13 and recording it on cassettes. Still have them some where. Thankfully the digital age has produced me with better quality.
Still can't believe I met Mike Mccready at the Guggenheim and got a pic with him!!!!!

    Make that $100!
If this happens though, I really wish they would keep the recording the way it is. Chance of that is slim though..
