Hello. This is The Maestro Meeks aka Travis. I am crafting an album that has been in the works for years. I would like to call this my finest work.

The buttons above allow you to pre-order the new music or make a donation to help produce the CD.

In the days ahead I will be sharing more details about this masterpiece with all of you. And for those of you who help me out through your financial support by pre-ordering the new music or donating for its production, I have some very special surprises in store for you.

Thanks for your support!

--

Just got word today I could go ahead & pre-order the album. But I couldn't this evening!

Pre-Ordering has been suspended due to Pay-Pal policies.
We are working on alternative pre-order methods.

D'oh! Hopefully things will get worked out.

Can't wait to check out the new stuff. :D

In a long history of "The First Album is Always the Best" -- Meeks joins the ranks for me. Was so dissappointed in everything else he's done since the first, his acoustic rock sound on that first album was just unique and exciting.

Then, like so many other horrible moments in rock history ... he discovered synthesizers. Honestly, I had forgotten about DOTN since the 2nd album, over to wiki to catch up...

yeah, 1st album was great- 2nd was okay- I didn't like their third. I saw him/DOTN live a couple of years ago- still puts on a killer show

Didn't the lead singer also form Tantric? Or was that the other members of the band? I know they are conencted somehow, lol.

Nope! Hugo Ferreira is the singer for Tantric. It was the other 3 member's of Day's of the New that went on to form Tantric. Those guy's kick ass!!!

Aren't the three guys from Day's of the New out of the band now? I heard a guy from here in Sarasota is playing violin in Tantric now.

    wow, that sucks dude.

I listened to their first album a few weeks ago. Sounded/reminded me of Alice in Chains (haven't listened to it in years).

yeah, the first album is awesome. very AIC. the second album (Green) was very "atmospheric" and "orchestral", more like a movie score. the third album (red) was more back to basics. he has said that the fourth (purple) was going to be out there and more orchestral (he now calls himself Maestro Meeks). So while I want my money's worth, I don't know if it's what I'm hoping for.

I only have the first album and just heard one song off the second album, "Enemy".

I don't know what this guy is doing. He takes pre orders a couple years ago (as noted in previous posts) through Paypal, gets shut down because that's against their practices. He doesn't refund anyone's money. Now he's saying if he can't get any backing to produce/market his album, he's going to quit music.

Any true musician would do what he could to get his music heard. He plays a few shows here and there, and doesn't show up for half of them. His facebook page moderator is out there trying to book shows. Really? Do you have a 15 year old neighbour booking shows for you?

I spent $600 between 4 people putting out a 4 song EP; we recorded and produced it ourselves; and most of that money was wasted on stupidity on the hands of my former bandmates (rental of the equipment for MONTHS when it should have been DAYS).

I have a buddy who is not a well known musician by any means, and he managed to raise $20,000 through pledgemusic to get a professionally recorded and produced album made.

I think Travis Meeks is a brilliant musician, but he's a fucking idiot when it comes to putting out music and making money. He's got the Days of the New brand. Produce some new merch. Put out a live album. Put out some b-sides. Put out a live dvd. T shirts. Sign some acoustic guitars and auction them off.

Or do what everyone else does, and go through pledgemusic. The guy would make a killing. The Tea Party and the Headstones both did, and their international fame was nowhere near DOTN.

All I can surmise is the guy is still a junkie. Such a shame if that's where this has gone.

Wow, this whole thing is just weird. It's hard to believe that there isn't some indie label that wouldn't sign him. They had enough success that you would think the smaller labels would be calling him non stop. I don't get it. I've pulled out the third album (red) recently and really enjoyed it. What really sucks is people paying money and getting ripped off. Unacceptable period. A positive sign to see some new tour dates. Let's hope for the best.

It is quite odd that out of nowhere the original band is reuniting for a tour and releasing an ep of new material. I smell 90's nostalgia cash grab. But if it is anything like the first one, ill steal it. I already gave him $15 after all. :ar!

    never happened Hugh.

did find a ton of unreleased stuff on youtube that I ripped though. way more than just the purple album, or the stuff that was supposed to be on it.

It's really a shame that he can't pull himself together. The dude has a great mind for music.

While I would love to hear a new album, I don't know if I could support him knowing that he has ripped people off like he has.

    Killer live act!

Caught the Darien Lake show on that tour. I recently read that Travis hated that tour because he felt he didn't belong with the other bands and was not treated well by fans being an acoustic show. I didn't remember it being like that but might have a biased opinion because I was looking forward to their set which I thought was great. I hope he can get himself together if he hasn't already
