This makes me, and everyone else in Detroit sick to our stomach.. The league needs to do something about the poor calls being made around the league, but this takes the taco!!! I am still shaking I am so pissed!!
and I don't care that he apologized. Do your job and get in a good position to make the right call!! He robbed that mans place in history.. Easily the worst call I have ever seen!!!

    Dude, I am sorry. Just saw that. Even if its a tie at first, you give the guy with two out in the ninth pitching a perfect game thus far that call. I can't imagine how much that hurts as a player, coach, or fan of Detroit.

    yes he does. But after feeling mad after viewing the video, an hour ago, I know feel very sorry for jj. For security reasons, I´m sure he will not be at tomorrows game.

    During my own personal rage, I even bagan to think he was a racist, or something. Maybe the play will be revised, who knows. The video image is clear. No doubt at all.

    Apparently Joyce doesn't suck. The Tigers and their fans were very classy the day after the fact.

    +1 bigger than baseball good moral move = if you knew how much i love baseball, well that's how heavy an endorsment this is. i love only my wife and pj more.

    This call was worse than Greek grammar. I think that adequately sums it up.

    you should change it to Bud Selig sucks thread. He's the one that won't change the outcome. Yeah Joyce mad a mistake and apologized to Gallaraga and the Det. Tigers.

    At least he manned up and called Galarraga to apologize. From everything I have read, Jim Joyce seems like a really nice guy. The players like him and seem to have his back. But what a horrible call.

    Think about how much that job must suck. You go your whole career and nobody really notices you, but you make one mistake a key moment and that is what you are saddled with for the rest of your life.

    Good point. I wonder if some of those umps would have handled it the same way, especially Joe West and Angel Hernandez.
