It looks to me like the Israelis were acting in self defense.(One of them even has a paint ball gun) and I think these people knew exactly what they were doing. Instead of going to a port where they could have had the boats inspected and could have been sent on their way this is what happend.

it looks to me as the 1st commando is coming down the line the group on the left of that are already fighting with someone, which makes me think there were events happening before the start of this video, why not show the entire video from start to finish?

actually the video pans to the right and you can see several people already fighting over there!

so again, why not show the footage from the very beginning, not where they start fighting back??

Because Israel will only show what suits them. One day it will make it's way on the internet!

I thought the same thing when I first saw it. It just seems to me that the flotilla was looking for a fight and it ended with people getting killed.

how does it seem like that? who knows what went on before the start of this video, other than armed commandos storming a boat in the dead of night in international waters.

it looks like a civilian ship defending itself from military attack to me. innocent people armed with sticks and chairs vs a boarding military force armed with machine guns.

how were the guys with guns "defending" themselves?

they didnt have any machine guns, you can see that just by watching the video. one guy has a fucking paint ball gun. The people on the boat were not "peace activists". They were nothing more than provocateurs doing their level best to incite this reaction. Israel asked them to come into port so the ships could be inspected for contraband, the ships refused to do so.

yes they had pistols but they did not have any machine guns. But you can clearly see they are the ones being attacked and this was hardly abunch of peaceful activist.

It doesnt matter anyway b/c no natter what the proof is. It will be Israelis fault.

when guys with guns drop down in the middle of the night from helicopters......what kind of reaction would you expect?
  • WaveCameCrashinWaveCameCrashin Posts: 2,929
Not that.. I mean look at it like this.
what if you were taking supplies to Hati and the Coast guard asked you to come to a port so they could inspect your ship and you didn't. Then they try to board your ship and you attack them. WTf do you think would happen ?

I think it could have been a ot worse IMO. If you ask me The blood is on Turkey's hands. This shit could have been prevented.

yes they had pistols but - 9 people did not have to die
and i cannot clearly see that the israelis are the one's being attacked
if you are on a boat in international waters and this happened what would you do?

i would expect the coast guard to wait until i am in US waters and then send a radio message telling me to stop for an inspection and pull up beside me....not wait until most were asleep in the middle of the night in international waters then jam the flotillas communications and phones then have armed commandos drop down from helicopters throwing concussion grenades and teargas while shooting rubber bullets and tasering people and then handcuff me and put a bag over my head and take me into US territory where i was held without being able to talk to anyone

i only caught a little bit of it but keith olberman had this guy on
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Peck

he was on 1 of the boats and he said the israeli's DID have machine guns as well as paintball guns. he also said that they didn't come to inspect the boat but take it over and sail them into israel, which is piracy plain and simple.

you know i really dont understand why people dont 'get' it. the israelis boarded those boats in INTERNATIONAL waters. it really doesnt matter what the destination was or what the israelis justification is.

So then maybe you can explain how at least civilians ended up with bullet holes in them?
