I'm pretty sure that game was born here in Ohio. if not, very close.

The more I drink, the better I am at that game. I seriously can't play it without a beer in my hand.
    Peace, Love.

I've played it, it's lots of fun. Good game to play when having a few brews.

You don't need to go out and buy a premade set though, it's a lot more fun to build it yourself (provided you own a saw and a hammer or screw driver, and there is a local hardware store nearby...
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

Very similar to my tea bagging set, which is ironically painted with the Scottish flag.

i played this game a time or two at the local frickin carnival. they never once called it "corn holing."
they called it " throw the fucking thing in the hole game"
also... only greasy haired tattooed carnies are allowed to own such games.

a common less dirty name is baggo

we have summer long office league. we have random guy girl teams. the baggo gods thought it would be funny to pair a big buckeye fan (me) with a michigan fan.

That could quickly degenerate to a sack tap.

    Play it all the time........

Why buy a set? Not that hard to make the boards....and you can paint them to ur own liking......
  • know1know1 Posts: 6,794
It's very popular around here. I have a set of boards and it's played at every cookout, tailgate, get-together, etc.

I was over my buddy's playing this about a week ago and was doing a best out of 3 series. It was getting heated near the end when it was tied 1-1 and he beat me and started yelling, "I am the Cornhole champion!!!!"

I just wish I had a recorder when he said that, cause it sounded so gay.

Probably the best tailgate game ever. I keep a set in the trunk for all times - parking lot, park, beach, where ever.

First time I heard it called 'cornhole' was in Chicago when I was out there for PJ at Lolla, and Phils/Cubs games. We were at this outdoor park at Millenium Park(I believe), and my buddy said, "Go ask for cornhole." I proceeded to tell him to take it deep and I'm not falling for his tricks twice(another story altogether). Welp, after seeming serious in the way he said it, I said fuck it and went up and asked cautiously. But yep, that's what it's called. And that's what I'll call it forever because it's much more fun to say than baggo, or bean bags, or whatever else it's called. I was impressed with how big it was in the midwest - they had a Golden Tee type arcade of the game in bars.

It's pretty big here in Chicago. Most people just refer to it as "bags". At any tailgate for the White Sox or Bears, there are people playing bags everywhere.

I concur with whoever posted earlier that it just doesn't feel right playing this game without a beer in hand.

I played the shit out of that in college. We didn't call it "corn hole" though.

Don't think I ever played it sober either!

Played it for the first time in my life about a month ago at a party thrown by a guy I know that went to University of North Carolina. I kind of assued it was a North Carolina thing. Interesting.

Hell yeah, we have Corn Hole tournaments all the time.

Don't buy a set, you can make your own for a lot cheaper.

Also, whoever said it was invented in Ohio is correct. Its hard to trace the roots of it, but the origins come from the Cincinnati area....Bengals fans claim it as their own, as well as Buckeye fans. Who knows for sure...but thanks for the fun game!
