Does PJ Radio mean the vault will open soon?

edited June 2010 in The Porch
Now that Pearl Jam Radio is cranking out the best of the band's live performances from throughout the years, does anyone else think we are now that much closer to seeing some of the classic shows released from the vault, finally??? I'm extremely excited over this possibility. I know, I have tons of them from fan sites over the years and physical boots from back in the day, but I'd still love to buy some officially released (and much better sounding) boots from the band's site.

Let's hope PJ Radio = Open the Vault (soon)!! :D

I hear ya. I shudder to think of the cash I'd blow on Vault shows if given the opportunity. It would be sweet if you could get cool packaging with the CD covers (maybe poster from the particular show as the album cover) and also with the downloads (get the jpeg of the poster for the cover art, etc.).

Anyone else think that the NYC 1992 release was an odd choice, considering the sound quality it has compared to other shows from the era?!

    Anyways, my suggestion is this...
$4.99 downloads only, includes front cover art.
    One show per month maybe.
PJ - Sydney 1998; Sydney 2003; Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle 2006; Melbourne, Sydney 2009; Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney 2014.

    I would certaintly hope so!

PJ cost themselves $$$$ (most likely in the millions) by not "opening the vault" years ago.

Every single day that goes by there are less and less people that are willing to pay ANY MONEY for music.

At first I thought this would be the case, but then I noticed that most of what they play are the same sound quality we have always had. In other words, they play a lot of songs from like, Zurich 1992 and Melbourne and Seattle 1998, shows that have always had soundboard bootlegs floating around, whereas other stuff is fan recordings. I have heard very few soundboard recordings on there that weren't already out there, except I think I did hear something from like the 99 Bridge School which I didn't think I had heard in soundboard before. I guess you never know, but I have been hoping they would open that vault for a decade now, and they even said they were going to, but they only put like one or two shows out, and never talk about it anymore.

I dunno. I've noticed that some of the performances from the 90's being played on PJ radio are the same soundboards and FMs that us dorky fans collect. I'm sure they have stuff in their archive that would just need a little mixing and mastering. They should give us something like that in addition to the fanclub vinyl to make up for how late it is.

I've heard some pretty bad quality audience recordings on PJ radio, maybe they don't even have great recordings of the 90's either.

You would think they at least have all of the 1998 American tour, as Live on Two Legs suggests they recorded those shows.
