Yep, time to go in for surgery yet again.
Reading the risks, hearing damage with the grommets and change in voice with the anenoid removal.
If my voice changes let's hope it makes me a great vocalist so I can join a band lol
Bit nervous :?

It feels like I have a throat infection, bit of pain swallowing.
The back of my throat is bright red.
Seems easier to breath through my nose now.
I feel drugged up and out of it still.

OK adenoids are lymph nodes located at the back of the throat quite close to the tonsils and can get swollen and infected or even blocked. Some of us are unfortunate to have an excessive amount of adenoid tissue therefore making breathing quite difficult especially when laying down and sleeping. Other problems associate with them are ear infections and the inability to pronounce certain consonants usually m and n.
So the insertion of grommets is quite commonly done at the same time as adnoidectomy/tonsilectomy if the ears are giving problems too. Basically the gromments allow for the small bones inside the ear that vibrate and allow us to hear sounds properly, to function properly. Also to allow for the fluid in the ear, that is otherwise getting blocked due to the pressure from the other factors ie adnoids/tonsils,to drain properly.
Not so gross really...and very common.
Oh and good to hear it has all gone well.
This is my 3rd time having grommets.
I had to do it if I am to fly overseas.
I saw 2 specialists both said I was very fortunate last year that it was the eardrum that burst whilst flying overseas and not the middle ear or I would be deaf now.
YIKES!!!!!
Me not knowing went to Perth for work, then Adelaide and Sydney for PJ, all this after my overseas trip.
Just thought I'd say I just actually read that you had the surgery done two days prior to my first comment...
Anyways, glad to hear it went good.
