Where can I hear Patti Smith's rendition of Alive?

I remember listening to this and being upset that Patti Smith would sing "I'm Still Alive" only a year after the tragedy. You know, almost as a slap in the face to those who perished.

However, this was before I knew that Alive was the next song in the set when the tragedy took place. Also, I heard from someone who attended both Roskilde 2000 and 2001 who said that the Patti Smith Group's performance of the song was cathartic. So, my opinion has changed on it.

and for those that are wondering, i presume the version we're talking about is the one she does at roskilde in 2001, rumour has it that she doesn't finish singing it coz she's crying ...but that's just a rumour, although it's true that she does stop singing at one point (it's been a while since i heard it - as i said, it's on tape!)

edit: :eek: ..that's even more of a butchering than Bruce Springsteen's Betterman!! (and I like Patti Smith, did a nice job of Smells Like Teen Spirit at the Shepherd's Bush Empire gig in October)

Hence the reason they didn't play it until Seattle 2 on the North American legs of the tour.

If so, I would strongly suggest you check out Firefox. Not that Firefox doesn't have any security holes, but I've had less problems with it.

And it's an mp3, so you would have a hard time watching it even if you downloaded it.
