2. Corduroy
Champaign, IL 2003
I love the slow openers as much as anyone, but I was so shocked they opened with DTE.. it got the crowd going insane to start the show.

Okay, the whole night is slightly blurry in my memory . I should have looked it . Anyway: Those five starting songs felt like one song : Go - Save You - Do the Evolution - Rearview Mirror ...
A little late to this party I know but of the three shows I've seen I'd have to say Release>Animal (Mansfield 2 03, Boston 10) is eclipsed only by Release/Severed Hand/World Wide Suicide/Corduroy/Animal (Boston 1 06).
Mansfield 7/3/2003 | Boston 5/24/2006 | Boston 5/17/2010 | Worcester 10/15-16/2013

Release/Long Road last night was pretty damn good. Animal did not appear. (No Pendulum in this show, for that matter.)
I've now been to four shows and Release was the opener for all four. I'd say it's a pretty good bet that streak gets broken at show #5, tonight.

Checked the shows-played lists and confirmed that last night was the first ever Release / Long Road 1-2. In fact the two songs were played in the same show only once before, 11/19/1996 Istanbul (Release to open, Long Road about 2/3 through the main set)

I will have to say,
Release>>>>>>>>>RVM
THe RVM was wicked, it was really fast paced, and it didn't have that jam in it. IT was just fast pace from start to finish.
Sydney 1 2006.

Betterman>>>>>Last Exit
Sydney 3 2006

Of my innocence... got back my inner sense...
Toronto, Maple Leaf Gardens - Sept 21, 1996
Release > Hail Hail - So unbelievable!!
But, the last show I was just at was pretty close to beating it.....
New York, MSG - May 21, 2010
Corduroy > Hail Hail
If however, we're talking 1, 2, 3 Punch....
Toronto, Air Canada Center - Sept 19, 2005
Release > Go > Animal
Buffalo, HSBC Arena - May 10, 2010
Unthought Known > Severed Hand > Animal - this is BY FAR the most worn out I've ever been after the first 3 songs....So awesome....
That was Berlin 2009 also - amazing sets at both shows but I think not quite the best openers that they could play
I agree with the GO-ANIMAL COMBO!
