Newbie to Poster Framing

I have the Bristow and Boston posters from this past tour. There were my first shows and I def. want to incorporate the ticket into the art when I get it framed.

Any suggestions? Anyone have these framed yet? Also if you have a picture of another poster and how you incorporated the ticket into it, I would love to see it.

    this is my first fame job . i think i payed about 100.00 to get it framed like that . if u try to buy the stuff and do it on your own its just about the same price -u don't know what your doing . lol .cheers good luck

    What's the best poster storage flat (I guess that's is what you call em)?

    my entire house is covered in concert posters. i use hobby lobby. they'll cut the glass and mats for you and then they have premade frames or do it yourself frames that take less than 5 minutes to put together. it usually costs me around 50 per.

    WOW! Nice job Norm!! I'm scared to ask how much that set you back!

    I'm thinking of FINALLY getting one of mine done but I wanna make sure the framers don't screw it up. When I bring it in...how do I ask them to frame it....is it called dry mount where they don't glue the poster to the backing?? I forget. I wanna make sure that they don't do anything that will affect the poster should I wanna change the frame or matting later.

    Also I won the $25 framing gift certificate in Chicago, but I live in Toronto. I was wondering if any of the Toronto winners were from the US and would maybe wanna trade their gift card for mine??

    i've owned my frame shop for about 9 years, and started in my father's shop about 22 years ago. If you pm me questions with a link to this thread, i can answer just about any question.

    ...and drymounting is not a good thing for anything valuable or collectible. :)

    Haha ya I know...just needed to get the terminology right in my head.

    just tell them u want it famed . with matting . alot of times u will run into someone that is good with colors to help pick out the background .

    Cool deal dropped em off at framers earlier today. Getting them both done with tickets included in the frame for $200. Pretty expensive but I know they are very good.

    I want to start buying a few posters here and there. What's something i could keep them in until I had enough $$$ to frame them?

    That sounds like a ncie deal to me. I am pretty bad at shit like that though so I'm afraid I'll just mess it up and ruin my posters. Is it pretty easy to do?

    my framer and i must have spent an hour going through different mats...since i was using both posters, we tried to find a color that would accent both posters...and in person, it's a little more reddish than the picture shows :)

    the problem i worry about is the humidity. i think I read that you shouldnt let the poster touch the glass or the humidity will get it. how do i fix this? does using a matting help this?

    it's easy. they have little harware kits for each frame you do and it just takes a screwdriver and 5 minutes. trust me it's easy. i'm no handyman.
