i like pretty much all their covers but the old school ritfw with the drum buildup and ed sort of whispering then screaming was one of the reasons i got into this band. in the current setup its cm, rom, and trouble for me
I personally enjoy Throw Your Arms Around Me. No disrespect to Mr. Seymour, but that song was meant to be sung by Ed. The band seriously needs to consider an official recording and release of that song. It seems to me that a lot of their intentions with Backspacer was to move on up the charts once more, this song would do that for them.

i think it would be pretty cool to get an album of covers, they've already done a few studio versions, but i think crazy mary might need to be re-done possibly, the original is quite tame imo.
If they played that riff for 2 1/2 hours I'd be more than happy.

im still yet to hear a version where ed actually sings it correctly. he muffs or adlibs or repeats the 1st verse on every version ive heard/seen! and he should play the chord patterns in the same manner as mark.. (as barres)lucky liam could help him out in 09!
Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.

"Crown of Thorns".....cover of the best band that never was....Long Live Andy Wood.
Gotta Love "Crazy Mary" too, "Arms Aloft" from the European tour is growing on me.
Sydney Australia, November 8 2006, Eddie signs the opening verse and first chorus of A sort of Homecoming. Not only is it possibly the best song U2 have ever written, it is without a shadow of doubt the best cover Eddie has ever sung. And the best thing about it is also the worst..... It was only ever played once... that's what makes it so special.... What Id give to hear the band break out and play the whole song. Im also a big fan of their version of Dock of the Bay.... Its funny though, whenever they cover a song, they own it, they personalise it, they nail it. Every cover could be a PJ origional, but the great thing is whenever they cover an artist it opens up that artist to their fans... I know that when I was teaching myself how to play rocking in the free world 17 years ago, it wasnt because id discovered Neil Young as a 16.
By the way, the clip of A sort of Homecoming is on youtube.... enjoy...
