New Green River Album with new material

In interviews with KUFO-FM Portland, OR, Mark and Jeff Ament independently said that Green River plans to record a new record (Mark, being more cautious, puts it at 60-80% that it will come to fruition). Steve has said the same at the 11/15/08 San Diego, CA show. The idea is that each of the six members of the mega-Green River will write two songs - one fast and punky, one a slow dirge - and they'll get together to record when their schedules line up.

  • Might be kinda fun to hear. They weren't a really "serious" band in terms of their music anyway.

That being said, Jeff needs to work on the new PJ record first. ;)
  • I'm pretty stoked to see them again on Friday.

Especially since it's at a killer venue.
    NERDS!

Given how the various members have progressed musically, this could be really wild and very cool.
Good news to wake up to on a Sunday morning.

    Oh man, fucking ace!

I really love the punky side of Green River so it's good to hear they're gonna be doing songs in that style again!

    Really stoked about this!

sounds good, turner and mudhoney have been putting out the best music of their career (Under a Billion suns, Bad Ideas, Since weve been translucent and the lucky ones) . Green river was pretty good, they dont sound dated as much some grunge from that era. They should put put a dvd too, like el sol by mudhoney.

  • Awesome. :D
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

I think Mudhoney recorded The Lucky Ones in 3 and a half days... I don't think Pearl Jam has ever recorded an album that quick, so this should be interesting. :D
