what do you do with your posters...
...during the concert? i plan to go to a bunch of these shows and pick up posters at them. what do you do with them during the shows? thats my concern. do you just put them on the floor or hold them or what? if im paying for one, i just want to make sure they dont get ruined and i feel by putting them on the floor they might.

Then I went to another pj concert 12 days later and I bought it as soon as I got in, and and I placed it strategically under my seat, making sure it was safe from me and others.

I bring a white trash bag with rubber bands. Roll the poster, put a couple of rubber bands around it, place in the bag, and you're set. Every poster I've bought has remained mint using this method.

Best idea...Get the $5 tour poster they sell at separate tables from the Merch stand. If your lucky the guy selling will have a plastic bag, like one you put a sleeve of cups into. He usually has the rubber bands too, but we bring them just in case. If they don't have a bag go to the concession stand and ask for one, they will be happy to give their garbage to a wacky person looking for a plastic cover for their poster.
In Hartford 2006 the guy made a fortune. Everyone was in line to buy the $5 "protective" poster. It helps keep the ends from any damage since it is usually much bigger.
I leave it on my seat and keep my eye on it. No floor, it will get crushed for sure. Mostly in 10c seats so everyone around has an idea of the poster situation. If you don't get 10c seats, keep an extra watch out.

Same thing in philly on '06. I always brought rubber bands with me, however this time a guy in the other merch. table had a heavy plastic sleeve for $1.00 each. As soon people figured out he had these (and he had a shit load) he made a killing. The sleeve was great, very heavy duty and I could rubber band the end of the sleeve. I took the sleeve on several other west coast dates and still have it. hahahaha. i plan on taking it to every show I go to.
Go to Lowes or Home depot and get one of these, it will last you a long time.

it is a risk for sure...in Toronto in 05, brought in a tube no problem...Toronto 06 first night, they gave me a hard time and made me "check it"...fair enough...second night, flat out refused me entry despite all my appeals. Had to toss it. Don't ever count on security to understand how to properly enforce the rules.
At some venues, they'll have a merch stand setup outside the venue, I have been able to score a poster early and put it in my car before going in.
Roll up that sucker + a garbadge bag, and you have a decent poster tube.
Yep, in Dusseldorf. Seems like it's pot-luck depending on the venue or the jobsworth on the door!

I can't believe how the PJ tour market has exploded! In 98 they used to just be on mail order and they were like $10 or so. It's crazy.
