your world

You tell me to go back
Into my little world.
But do you know what world you're in?
Trembling hands and distant words,
Was this your plan to get back your girl?

Life speeds by your window
In a strobe light
Of car lights
Heading blind into the night.

You wanna know all these fictional truths
Making up reality as you go along.
Wasted friendship with a bottle
Inspiration for another sad song

Life speeds by your window
In a strobe light of car lights
Heading blurred into a fight

What use do I have of your
Broken verses?
You seem to me a different person
Maybe one day ill understand you again,
But for now I've lost a friend

Poem/lyrics I just wrote about an old friend who I lost to alcohol. He always loved the bottle but then a bad breakup sent him over the edge. I tried so hard to help him but he was drinking a bottle of Vodka a day or more that not even his best friend (myself) could do anything. During the last fight we had he told me to "go back into my pearl jam world.". It really didn't make any sense for what was going on, and I actually took it as a compliment more than anything.. Haha... Its amazing how much alcohol can change a person.. Wish I could have done more for him but he just denied any help at all. Even from his parents

People disappoint each other and its hard to become numb when others want you to feel.
    Its better to be alone.
I like your poem and hope your friend chooses to feel again so you can be there for him.

I like your poem- I am sorry about your friend. Maybe he will find his way back.

I can relate to this, as I've been on both sides. Watched my dad drink him self to death for the most part after we lost mom. Sad to say, I've also been the person that wouldn't see, or listen to those who care about me during dark times.

I like the poem, heavy and sad, but very good.

    thanks.
    Peace, Love.

this writing of yours reminds me of many people i know including myself.
it's a shame that people do this to themselves which in turn hurts those that love them.
