MSG Security

Anyone else surprised by the complete lack of security when entering MSG? Don't get me wrong I was
happy not to have any issues getting my flask etc into the arena but I thought it was a little strange
considering the events of the last few weeks. I also had to laugh about all the 60+ year old ushers
in their 1970's jackets especially when they were looking for a tip to escort me to my seat that
I had already been back and forth to several times. Thank god for the unions!

YES, i was very surprised we weren't checked. And like you said, considering what almost happen a few weeks ago. Regardless of that though, they should've been checking us out ALOT better then they did, which was nothing when i walked through the doors. Very strange indeed.

That's pretty strange considering getting into the Nobelsville show was like tryin to get your ass into Fort Knox!

on the way in i got patted down pretty thoroughly. i dunno if it was because i was wearing cargo shorts with lots of pockets, but they addressed every pocket.

but yeah, on the inside... didnt see much security.

Didn't get pat down at all on Friday night. Same with My Morning Jacket on New Years Eve a few years back, my only other trip to MSG. I wasn't complaining either time though.

But like the above poster, after the events of the last few weeks, I was still surprised.

i've been past concerts when there were like nazi's, i really appericaited these two , so much more relaxed. people were allowed to stand in the aisle's for once. much more comfortable for me personally.

Really? I didn't get touched at Noblesville and they only glanced in my wife's messenger bag. Guess it depends on which security guard you get....and how recently they went through training. :)

I didn't get patted down either night. On Friday, I started raising my arms as I walked towards the security guys and I just got waved on. I told my girlfriend that maybe I wasn't pretty enough.
  • been like this at MSG for as long as I can remember, i walk in with book bags, never get searched lol, dont know if its a mutual respect thing or whatever, but its nothing new, they never search, didnt even search hard after 9/11

  • they choose x amount of people at random to be screened. night 1 i got patted down...night 2 walked right in. all you had to do was open your eyes to see what was going on. it was not a lack of security--it's MSG's security policy.

Yup... When wife and I got there, EVERYBODY was getting wanded, patted down, all pockets emptied, and purses inspected. Everybody. Must have relaxed it some later on. We got there at 6:30. Hell, all that was missin was some explosive sniffin dogs and we would've been set...

I felt there was the most security in Newark when they used the metal detector. They didn't do that in Buffalo OR MSG.

Yeah I was "profiled" or searched for having cargoes on or whatever. But the guy was cool. He grabbed my sach through the pocket and with a smile said "You're not bringing pot in here are you? You're not going to be smoking in my section are you? I hope I don't have to kick you out of here". But he was smiling the whole time. Mad cool.

I highly doubt they'll be so lenient at the Jay-z show next week or whatever upcoming hip-hop show that I saw on the marquee......

    Thats Outstanding!!!

I too noticed this and thought it was wierd. The first night I just walked right in without a word said to me by security. The second night my friend got wanded so I took my phone and keys out of my pocket and raised my arms out and the dude just looked at me like i was crazy and said " I trust you sir" and waved me on. Funny thing was my buddy had a metal flask that the dude wanding him someohow missed. I guess they really don't give a fuck at MSG which is a little disturbing if someone was trying to massacre some people
