Boston's got to be one if you're getting 5.

I don't know. Pearl Jam is always consistently good. I think the only difference between these shows this year and other years is that they are playing more rarities. I would say it is not their greatest leg since we tend to remember the recent concerts and they have a 20 year career.

These short little excursions do result in consistent, great shows versus the longer tours.

As much as we all wish for an extensive tour with dates announced months in advance so we can plan, these short tours ensure one thing. Awesome shows!! There are no " off nights". Not that PJ shows are ever bad, but over the course of a long tour there are a few that maybe aren't maximum effort. Every one of these shows were great by all accounts, and seemed to get progressively better actually.

If it's not the best it's def up there. Every show got something special that the other ones didn't.

I have to say the AU-NZ run seemed pretty impressive it being stadiums and all! But I agree.. what a fucking run! curious...since I don't want to start another thread, and it's somewhat related... I'm going to ask you guys to help with this question: which shows from this leg had the typewriter backdrop versus no backdrop. I'll start but if someone could finish it would be cool.

    No

PJ is no more consistent now than when they were playin 70 shows a tour. They've always brought it night in and night out, at least since 2000.

You want crazy setlists? Check out 03 and VFC.

What a run 13 shows 132 different songs played
  • JimmyVJimmyV Posts: 19,128
This is one of those questions that can't be answered definitively because setlists alone are only part of what makes a show great. But I do think that the combination of setlist and how on fire the band sounded in Hartford and Boston (the two shows I was at) does rank this tour, particularly the run from Hartford through MSG, amongst the best they have ever played.

this has been a solid leg, but let's bot be rediculus... I haven't heard all of the shows yet but im thinking:

all of of 1994 1998 are better as well as

    Euro 2000
    US 2 2000
    Japan 2003
    US 2003 Leg 2
    Australia 2006

  • it has my vote.. what an epic run.

Greatest leg of a tour ever! You've got to be kidding right?

Yeah, I would put it right behind all of 98, all of 00, most of 03, all of 06 and Australia 09

First MSG '03 was the greatest ever. Then the Vic '07 show. Then Philly '09 could never be topped. Then Boston '10 was the best. Then MSG II '10 was the best.

The band is awesome indeed, but I think we just get a little overly excited around here :)

i hear ya, this was a sick little tour, very unique, not sure about best ever, but being at MSG 2, & being at every other MSG there ever was, i dont know, it was something insane, magical, Philly 4 was pure awesome, fun, Irving Plaza, Wachovia 05, all other MSG's, MSG 2 98, MSG 1 03, were my 2 best but this one was just unreal, never seen or felt anything like it

    USA 1994
    Euro 2000
    Canada 2005
    USA 2000 Leg 2
    Euro 2006

USA 2010 looked pretty fine but not enough dates and too much complaining about the setlists and attendances. Both MSG shows looked amazing as did Boston and Cleveland.
