Sweet slumbers

Dozing off to cool music.... here is a little something
Today I fell asleep to a simple song
That soothed my wandering appetite
In a cure of soft spoken words…
Beautiful music growing,
Building worlds and dreams
Around itself.
In my dreams, a weaving spider
The fabric of illusion around its legs,
Beckoned in a furry voice,
Asking about color and shapes.
“Give my dreams texture”, I pleaded
And the rest shall come when it may
Make them gentle of nature
So that I may find peace along the way
“And so it shall be”, she said
Pulling wool over my eyes.
Sweet dreams to you child
May you find a home within your mind.
o
As I wake now and look around
Everything feels safe and calm;
The sun warm on my face
A light breeze rustling
The leaves of potted plants.
A delicate male voice sings
“Tell me why?”
And I believe we can all be set free
With a smile.
As I daydream about knights in armor,
Floating breezes and getting high,
I smile and stretch in the sofa
Slowly bringing my body back to life.
All in a dream,
Only a dream…
I'll find a new home
In the sun.
It should be really easy to guess to which song dozed off.... extra points to anyone who gets it! :P
I fitted the song in towards the end of the poem, as a tribute or wink of sorts (it's not plagiarism if I admit it right? )

I am just a dreamer, but you are just a dream...
If I knew where it was I would take you there.
If I knew where it was I would take you there.

Hint - Neil Young song
If I knew where it was I would take you there.
Well, I dreamed I saw the knights in armor coming
Sayin' something about a queen
There were peasants singin' and drummers drumming
And the archer split the tree
There was a fanfare blowin' to the sun
That floated on the breeze
Look at mother nature on the run in the nineteen seventies
Look at mother nature on the run in the nineteen seventies
I was lyin' in a burned out basement
With a full moon in my eyes
I was hopin' for a replacement
When the sun burst through the skies
There was a band playin' in my head
And I felt like getting high
Thinkin' about what a friend had said,
I was hopin' it was a lie
Thinkin' about what a friend had said,
I was hopin' it was a lie
Well, I dreamed I saw the silver spaceships flying
In the yellow haze of the sun
There were children crying and colors flying
All around the chosen ones
All in a dream, all in a dream
The loading had begun
Flyin' mother nature's silver seed
To a new home in the sun
Flyin' mother nature's silver seed
To a new home in the sun
If I knew where it was I would take you there.
