How did they know?
my mom said, my grammy said:
"Don't put ugly expressions on your face and ugly thoughts in your mind or they will stick"
thoughts and minds, faces and expressions, and what they project!
they aren't the way they are for no reason.
I think our thoughts and emotions are on our faces
our comfort and discomfort
pride or shame?
happiness or misery?
go outside and look
some of those people look cruel!
go outside and some of those people look stiff and arrogant!
GO INTO AN OFFICE and see some unhappy, bitchy women!
go into a GROCERY STORE and see the heaviness and boredom on the checkers faces!
look at the guy behind the bank counter with his irritation barely veiled
(if we're LUCKY it's veiled!)
if we're not, it's obvious like a loud noise or an orange shirt
most faces fall into their habitual expressions after a while
bored, angry, kind, happy, greedy, mean, curious, thoughtful, stupid,
whatever it is.
the expressions change the face
the mind changes the face
they create or age it
they mold the body or warp it
and after a while that's the habitual look of the face and the body
I think that's one good reason to be careful what you DO on a daily basis
you will stick that way!
you body will stiffen and change
just like moms and grammys warn-->
"Don't make those faces or they will stay that way!"
It's funny, but it's actually TRUE
little did we know, as adults looking around,
we'd see proof of this truth
Strangers are like living paintings of their average day
we all are, I'd guess...

Maybe you need to change what's making you bored and tired? Is that possible?

    The power of a smile,
you can change a face, change a day, change a thought
    with just a smile
    everywhere you go.
Just smile, then a smile comes back and for a split second there is a bond,
a bond that changes a thought, changes a day, changes a face,
    the power of a smile.

Yip somewhat - have joined the gym again which will give me more energy. The boredom thing can be cured tonight when I get home and pick up my guitar and sing songs with my kids.

That's true Pandora, but I just wrote this about how when you meet a bunch of different people in a day it's so obvious by their response to you that they are all coming from different places themselves because you are the same person getting all these various responses...

Even if you habitually smile at everyone, you are likely to get a variety of responses. Have you noticed that?

I went to a bunch of different schools today and I couldn't believe the range of reactions I got from people. Some of the secretaries actually lied to me! Some of the receptionists were darling. Some of the administrators were just fine. Some were odd.

    It was fascinating!!

I like this one, and yes its true. Somehow people wear their emotions on their faces. Greeting someone with a smile is so much better, even if it's not always how you feel. Smiling can be contagious.

My emotions seem to change with the seasons, I could be a different person in the "winter" versus in the "summer". I handle this very well most of the time, but sometimes it gets the best of me and I can be horrible. The sun definetly affects me, here in Cleveland their is more grey days than sunny days. Yuck.

In the back of my mind, someday I will head out west or south - I just need more sunny days. :D
