i don't have a link but it's on fox now, the utility commissioner told LA if they keep boycotting Arizona stuff they will cut their power off.

Not all their power, they said it only supplies about 25% of their power but who knows what that would due to the system(s) handling the other 75%

Just sow it myself, but FOx is making a show of this.....
Los Angeles owns that power, its not like we are dependent on it or paying some kind of bill on it.
Fox is a joke all the crap they've been talking today is just building up more divide. I'm ready to take up arms!

AZ cannot pull the power on LA- the member who wrote the letter, was only making a suggestion- That if LA was serious about the boycott then they should pull there electrical resources from AZ..... But LA holds that option ....
    not AZ.

this is going to get nasty .... And I am in favor of progress.... I'm not ready to go back to the civil rights period....

this is a lot more complicated than what we're being led to believe... NOBODY is going to shut off the water flow that would diminish the hydroelectric power going to SoCal.

    Trust me.

    NEVER would happen.

Without this power LA would have rolling black outs that would be worse than Venezuela's.

    here is the link

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/05 ... k-boycott/

I think they are just saying, why don't you put your money where your mouth is and quit buying power from Arizona.

"if a boycott is truly what you desire, I will be happy to encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements so Los Angeles no longer receives any power from Arizona-based generation."

"I am confident that Arizona's utilities would be happy to take those electrons off your hands," Pierce wrote. "If, however, you find that the City Council lacks the strength of its convictions to turn off the lights in Los Angeles and boycott Arizona power, please reconsider the wisdom of attempting to harm Arizona's economy."

No one person can shut the power off to the city of Los Angeles, but don't you all think it is a bit hypocritical to come out and say boycott this and boycott that and still draw power generated in Arizona?

Can Arizona do that? Wouldn't that be a threat to national security? Wouldn't the military have to step in?

People should be fired for even making such threats.

    When do people grow up?

it turned out fox was just overhyping it, they weren't 'threatening' to cut the power, the guy was saying since you want to boycott stuff from their state stop buying power and water from them, too

I am so sick of other states/cities getting involved with this. My city council just tried to make a decision on how we all felt about Arizona. If California is so interested in Arizona then they should not only quit buying their power but also let the 5,000,000 or so acre feet of water keep flowing into Mexico.

They are not buying the power.... they own 25% of the power... It does not belong to AZ.
