MSG question

this may be best directed at the Hoff but i'm up for any info that you all may have. my buddy and i are coming to NYC from DC for the friday show. we'll both be traveling with a backpack each. unfortunately, our buddy's place where we're crashing wont be available for us to store our backpacks till 11pm. Is it cool to bring a backpack into MSG or even better, does anyone know of a place around the arena that we can rent a locker or something similar?

    penn station is underneath the garden and i'm sure you can rent a locker down there. someone else can probably confirm 100% though. good luck.

    thats what i thought but everything i've read online says it closes at 8pm. at least the amtrak lockers do.

    i believe after 9/11 ... there no lockers anymore ...

    The shows have been ending around 11:00.

    From MSG's website: Madison Square Garden asks all guests to arrive early and travel light. All persons and bags are subject to search. Bags that have passed inspection must fit comfortably under your seat. Oversized bags are prohibited. MSG does not provide an area to check bags, coats or any other personal belongings. We are not responsible for any property that is lost, stolen, or damaged.

    So basically it depends how big the backpacks are and then what you have in them (nothing prohibited).
