Best Place to Frame Poster?

Hello all,

Buffalo this year was my PJ show. I waited 8 years (since high school) to see them and finally got the chance to. It was fucking amazing and makes me crave more shows (gonna have to wait til next tour). Everything about the show was amazing, including the poster.

I have a few show posters from other artists (Wilco, two from NIN) and the PJ is the highest quality, in color and texture. The Scranton 2010 Wilco poster is also a pretty high quality, but lacks vibrant color. I want to have these two, Wilco and PJ, framed somewhere that won't charge me an arm and a leg. I'm a college student so I don't need anything too fancy but I'd like it to be framed in something halfway decent and presentable.

I want them to include the ticket stubs underneath and possibly the PJ one having the official bootleg discs too. What are some rough estimates that people have experienced? What stores should I look into?

Any help, tips and things to look for would be helpful!

Thanks!

if you search the board for poster framing special, it should bring up the framing special I had, and can arrange to do again. If youre just looking for cheapest and install yourself frames, some people on here will have an online store to refer you to.

I'd post my own link but cant at the moment on my cell. :)

  • Thanks but I think the most I'd be willing to spend is $120-150. Most I have found are $220+, a little steep for my college wallet. Are there a lot of personal framing places where I could get UV protected class and decent matte's?

I'm sure if you wanted a generic metal frame and no matting, you could get the price well below $120-$150 at a local frame shop near you.

Here's the link to my PJ Poster Framing Special with real wood frames with a choice of seven color-stripe frames, with museum artcare matting, conservation UV protection glass and museum artcare foamboard. The price is a bit higher than your price range, though with other participants it would get the price down.

...and I'm sure there will a variety of online snap-together-at-home frames people will chime in with.

    Hope this helps. :)

try a place like Michaels. go with the standard frames they have (not custom frames). you can get a decent wood frame for $20-$25 on sale and with a coupon from the Sunday newspaper. choose a matte from them and they will put it all together for you for another $25 or so. I recently got a picture framed them doing it this way and total cost was $50 for frame, matte and the service. Did a really nice job and I was pretty pleased.

yup, and don't expect to do the stub/cd's if you want to keep the cost pretty low.

Check out your local Kent's & Home Depot Frame Shops. They are pretty good. Plus if you have a contractor's account, you get a pretty sweet deal on them. 8-)
