Curious on the your thoughts. Obviously, Boston, Philly, Seattle could argue the top spot, but what are the others? I'm in Detroit, and while we've had some good shows, I wouldn't put us in the top 10. What are the thoughts of those who follow them city to city?

Hopefully, after this week, we'll all be back on the consensus that New York is #1.

But really, who knows. They typically great shows in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Seattle, Los Angeles and Chicago...but they've had great shows just about everywhere else too. Let's not forget some great shows that have happened in Buffalo, Missoula, East Rutherford, Atlantic City, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, Boise, Augusta, Toronto, Toledo, Columbus, London, Katowice, Lisbon, Mexico City, Manitoba, Atlanta, San Francisco, Melbourne, Perth...the list can go on forever.

Their top city is really the city they play that night. Tonight, the top Pearl Jam city in the whole world is Newark, which may be the first time it was great at anything.

Toronto and Southern Ontario in general has some hardcore Pearl Jam fans, Boston area does too. Can't say I've ever seen PJ in any other areas besides Buffalo and Albany and Albany's fans were pretty dead.

I think the general consensus as that the bigger cities have the best shows because of population and biased opinions, however some of my favorite boots are from smaller towns.. Missoula, Champaign, Buffalo and so on.. I always come across sleeper shows that sounds like they would have kicked the ass out of Chicago shows I've been to or Boston, NYC, LA, Philly and so on..

Based on number of shows played in one city, my guess is Seattle gets the top spot.

Philly is always a special spot for the band... and I say that as a transplant into this town and have no sentimental value for it whatsoever.

I do, however, have sentimental value for Pittsburgh, and have to say that the shows I've seen there always seem like something special. They don't play there often b/c it's a small market, I guess, but some gems come out of there when they do!

NY, Philly, Boston and Seattle are the top tier. No others are close. That's why they play the Northeast so often.

For me, after listening to many thousands of hours of bootlegs, I would say that some international cities should be sprinkled in there. They do play outside of the USA. These stand out,
    Mexico City, Mexico
    Sao Paolo, Brazil
    Verona, Italy

    but there are many others.....

Its hard to rank 10 cities, i don't know how to order them but i would say New York, Boston, Seattle, Philly are the top tier. The next tier would probably include LA, San Diego, Hartford, London. Other then that I'm not really sure, its too tough with so many good shows.

    10 is tough.

I would say an upper echelon (6) of Philly, NYC, Boston, Toronto, Chicago, and Seattle.

I think there is a bit of a dropoff after that.

Just from listening to bootlegs I would put Milan at the top, and then Mexico City.
