I don't understand this? Philly has better numbers in almost every category. :P I was at both and am not necessarily calling it better, I'm just confused by your numbers and conclusion:) Very interesting to look at though.

I've totally given up on trying to pick a favorite PJ show. I've had so many uniquely amazing evenings with this band that it would have to be like a 7 way tie, then another 3-4 for second place. Thank you PJ for consistently kicking my ass live. Boston was unbelievable last night

Boston has a lower average rarity of song. Lower number = more rare. Boston also has a higher percentage of songs played that were under 100 times played.

You forgot to list "Out Of My Mind" with the Philly 4 rarities. I think that was only the 3rd time it was played.

I know, but all the one's I listed were only ever played once. The only reason I listed 4 for Boston was that I couldn't say Force of Nature as a "rare" song in good conscience.

How could a PEARL JAM FAN call the playing of Bugs a "novelty"???? Yeah...I suppose you don't "rock out" to Bugs but it's not like you "rock out" to Just Breathe, Small Town or Black either.

I don't get the whole "less times played = better than" mindset.

It's not. That's not a good mindset at all. I'm just giving numbers. Never said that Boston is better than Philly because of THIS. Just giving some interesting numbers

I think your whole rarity index is flawed. You've gotta do something like, percentage of shows with song played since its debut. I know that's probably not possible with the PJ.com data, but just saying.

I think I know what you mean. Not weighting Force of Nature with 10 plays the same as Crown of Thorns, which as 15.

Unfortunately, I have no idea on how to do this. Though it is not perfect, and there are discrepancies, I think these numbers are accurate to a CERTAIN degree
