MSG 1 OPENER

I really hope the band decides to do it big for this MSG stand and kicks it off with something special. Im talking Oceans, Release, Long Road, a nice slow builder. If they are in a mood to start fast Go into Animal is the way to go. Everyone I know who is going is just worried about Backspacer being pushed. We love the album, but mid-set, not to kick things off. Also Why Go is tired as an opener, it works better to close the first set.

What do you guys think, my personal preference is OCEANS

Oceans is the one I have my fingers crossed for on MSG 1 and Long Road would be perfectly fitting for the MSG 2 opener - considering it is the last night of the tour

That sounds perfect. Im afraid Ed will hear the Black Keys go off and change the setlist to something fast, but I am a sucker for the slow build. Its like sex, gotta get us wet before they can pound us. Hard to Imagine would be great but they opened with it last time so pleassssse play Oceans!!!! It would be a great way to kick off summer by the beach on Long Island.

they havent been repeating openers too much so.... shot in the dark/dream come true:

    PRESENT TENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this way i get to hear PRESENT TENSE and enjoy it without the dorks up in the 400s with me saying "can you please sit down, this is a resting song" like what always happens with garbage seats when PRESENT TENSE emerges in the end of the first set.

P.S. if your in the 400s, please be ready to rock

Love the song, just wish it would make an appearance as the first song in an encore instead of always opening. I like the old classics to open. Its Of the Girl by the way.

You are actually asking for this to open? Im sorry, but this song makes every single set, why waste it as an opener? There are certain classics that will only be played as an opener.

No im not hoping for that, its just my prediction. Theyve opened with it twice on this tour already i think, just have a feeling they'll wanna showcase backspacer right off the bat at msg.

I know they're not uncommon, but seeing as that will be my first opener ever, I'd have to go with Release or Long Road. So amazing and so moving- both mean a lot to me!

doubt it's gonna be of the girl since they opened with it tonight in newark, but that would be cool to see. i'd like to hear wash open.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

  • i would love for oceans to open. there is gonna be a very special woman to me in the crowd for both nights. we cant sit together but i will hear her scream from the other side of arena if its played. plus its just such an amazing tune. i hope its played just for her to hear it.
