A Million Miles Away

the mist rolls in
life covered in a wet gray
the funny flowers hang low to the ground
heavy with the soaking
but I’ll be alright
And you,…
you may as well be a million miles away
I somehow know that you feel lost
mired in the decay of confusion
swallowed whole by the night
living in seclusion
but I’ll be your light
a dangerous time, this moment of calm
the water will rise, consuming the lost
leaving the slightly sane to carry the weight
falling into disharmony, as fear takes flight
but I’ll be your light
life covered in a wet gray
the funny flowers hang low to the ground
heavy with the soaking
but I’ll be alright
And you,…
you may as well be a million miles away
I somehow know that you feel lost
mired in the decay of confusion
swallowed whole by the night
living in seclusion
but I’ll be your light
a dangerous time, this moment of calm
the water will rise, consuming the lost
leaving the slightly sane to carry the weight
falling into disharmony, as fear takes flight
but I’ll be your light
Peace, Love.

my husband would say "whatever that means".
I think it meant this.
I'd like to think it meant this.
Your words always reach my heart and I make them mine.
I hope that is right.
Thank you, it makes me feel good that you make them yours.
I guess once I write them, and share them in some way, that they are not really mine anymore anyway yeah?

Writing we interpret our own way and perhaps not always how the author intended. But the words are with us and the connection made, that's the intended outcome. Thank you for writing.
Excellent, moving, illustrative,
Steve
Oh, to feel like a light
I feel happy to count myself as one of the still slightly sane
and who knows how long that will last?
"what a long, strange trip it's been"
this is beautiful. Lovely work, wolf.
If I knew where it was I would take you there.
Wish you were here...
