What time are people heading over from NYC to Newark? I've never been and will be travelling alone so if anyone wants to meet up at the station and head over together? I have no idea where I am going and could use some help! haha

Pretty easy trip. Just take the NJ Transit train from NY Penn Station to Newark Penn Station.

Trains run pretty often from NYC to NJ and should take about 20 minutes. I looked earlier and trains back after the show are at 11pm and 11:41pm (figure should be able to get one of those).

    Hope that helps!

    anybody know?

i think the newark path stop is only a couple of blocks away from the prudential center. i have no idea where nj transit leaves you.

i'm reasearching it now I think they're the same. but it appears as if Path is cheaper, but a few minutes longer? shit I hate options!

Im pretty sure the path and nj transit leave you at the same station. I took nj transit to prudential center in december for a college hoops game and the arena is literally 2 blocks away, you can see it when you get out, couldnt be easier. And it was a quick 20 minute ride, never taken the path but i cant imagine its any easier than NJ transit.

$1.75 for the path and i can use my metrocard so path it is for me. plus i can just take the subway all the way downtown from my neighborhood. if you take the path from penn, it looks like you have to transfer. i'd rather take 2 trains than 3.

nj transit tells me to take the 42nd st in times square (closest to my hostel) to penn station 34th st which will take me to newark penn. does that sound right to any new yorkers?

It took that trip some time ago.
    Sounds about right.

From your hotel (if you are near Times Square) you can walk to 34th street Penn Station - it will be a lot easier. Ask them at the desk.

thought i posted this but maybe not. Walk to 33rd st at Herald Square. Right in Front of Macy's you can take the PATH train to Newark Penn Station. You are going from one end to the other and it will be much easier than navigating New York Penn Station if you dont know it.

    I agree, between 32nd and 33rd on 6th
Also if you are going from this station you do need to switch PATH Trains...
Take the Journal Square train (Not Hoboken) will be on the wall to the left...
Switch at last stop Journal Square for Newark train...
