I'm a huge Weezer fan, always have been, but living in Newfoundland I have never had the chance to see them yet. Anyways I'm finally going to see them this July, just wondering what to expect, what are they like in concert?

I saw them back in January of this year. It was the first show that the singer was cleared to sing. It was also a free show - Tmobile (I think) ran a contest and whichever university had the most votes or soemthing through a facebook page won a free Weezer show. Florida State won.

Anyway, it was worth a free show and that's about it. They played all of their old hits - which was great, but the few songs that they played off their news album sounded nothing like the Weezer that I remember. They brought out the chich from Paramore and Jermaine Dupree (on different songs) and they even did a Lady Gaga song- yeah, seriously.

The beginning of the show was pretty sweet. I can't remember what song they started with, maybe Hash Pipe, but they had the FSU Marching Cheifs up on stage doing the war chant and then they came in playing that - then went straight into their first song- HP.

One of my friends that was with me kind of ruined it for me because he swore that he thought that they were lip-singing. I'm not sure if theyr were, but just the thought of it kind of killed it for me. I'm just glad that it was a free show.

they are good band but im spoiled to the changing setlist of pearl jam...if you go to one weezer show you have gone to every show that summer pretty much until there next cd comes out. but its worth the one time listen least to hear the old blue and pinkerton stuff

I saw them in 2007 at Coachella ... they were a huge disappointment.

I saw them on the co headline tour they did with Foo fighters back in 2005. Weezer was pretty impressive actually. I like pretty much all their albums except for Maladroit. If you are a big fan, you will enjoy the show. I will prolly go see them on a headline tour when they come back here.

I thought the setlist was good when I saw them. Nice mix of songs.

Here is the set list I saw on 9/15/05:

    My Name is Jonas
    Peace
    Don't Let Go
    Such a Pity
    In the Garage (Scott vocal)
    Perfect Situation
    Why Bother (Brian vocal)
    Surf Wax America
    El Scorcho
    Say It Ain't So
    We Are All On Drugs
    Beverly Hills
    Buddy Holly
    Photograph (Pat vocal, Rivers drums)

    (encore)
Island in The Sun (Rivers solo acoustic)
    Undone - The Sweater Song
    Hash Pipe
    Big Me (Foo Fighters cover)

Their shows are fun, they are goofy and just have good time. They even randomly picked a guy from the crowd to play guitar on "sweather song".

Have fun if you go man.

Saw them on the last tour and I would say it was pretty fun. I was on the floor with my teenage daughter and had to fight the moshers. Like someone else said they do play the same setlist night in night out except for the cover songs. They did Time and Sliver.

I saw them in 02 and 05. I liked them in 02, was disappointed in 05 and their latest career choice of being a totally watered down schloky pop band is disasterous, imo. They're so much better than their stuff now.

That's funny. I saw them at Coachella at 2005 and thought they were good. Not great. But good enough. It was a fun time.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

blasphemy!! i love maladroit, i think it's one of their best. i think make believe is shite, the red album is somewhat decent (ie not pure shite like make believe but nowhere near as great as everything else they've done) and ratitude....i had preordered this on vinyl then canceled the order after downloading and listening to it.

i've never seen them live so i can't comment on it but i'd go see them depending on the price, i had wanted to see them on the tour with the foo fighters but wasn't able to travel that far on that day.

i love all their albums except for those 2 i mentioned above. i read an interview where pat seemed to portray it being all about it's rivers' band and everyone else follow along because he's not going to let you have a say anyway. maybe that's changed since everyone else wrote a song on the red album.

i once thought they could be better than pavement but pavement never put out such crap or did songs with kenny g
